Iryn Tushabe's Everythiung is Fine Here has been acquired by House of Anansi's Shirarose Wilensky!

We are so pleased to announce that House of Anansi’s Shirarose Wilensky has acquired World rights to Ugandan-Canadian writer and journalist Iryn Tushabe’s EVERYTHING IS FINE HERE for planned publication in Winter 2025!

Set in Uganda,  EVERYTHING IS FINE HERE explores the moment a young woman asserts herself outside the religious and cultural limits of her family in order to stand with her lesbian sister and emerge—disastrously, tragically, but ultimately with renewed compassion—into adulthood.

Iryn Tushabe has been shortlisted for the Caine Prize for African Writing and was the winner of the 2020 City of Regina Writing Award. Her creative nonfiction has appeared in Briarpatch Magazine, Adda, Prairies North and on CBC Saskatchewan. Her short fiction has been published in Grain Magazine, the Carter V. Cooper Short Fiction Anthology, the Journey Prize Stories.

The deal was arranged by Senior Agent Carolyn Forde.
